Gmail SMTP Settings for WordPress

How to Set Up App Passwords
If you use 2-step verification on your Google account and your mail client doesn’t support verification codes, you’ll have to enable App Passwords before configuring the Google SMTP server settings.
Why should you do this?
Due to two-step verification, some security apps may prevent you from accessing your email account. The restricted app or device can access your mail account with an app-specific password.
If you don’t have two-factor authentication enabled, you can skip the instructions given below.
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to create an app-specific password:
- Go to your Google Account and choose Security on the left panel.
- On the Signing into Google tab, select App Passwords.
- Select the other Options and Input any name
- Click on GENERATE button; it will generate the password Save it or take a screenshot.
- Go to your WordPress site; hosting doesn’t matter
- Go to the Plugin and input the text WP SMTP.
- Install and activate the highlighted plugin
- Open the WP Mail SMTP plugin as it is already installed and activated
- Select the Other SMTP option
- Input the SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
- Select Encryption: TLS
- Input SMTP Port: 587
- Authentication: On
- SMTP Username: Gmail ID as input during App Password
- SMTP Password: As previously generated above
- Click on the Save button, your changes have been saved successfully.
- Click on Email Test, and input the Email ID where you want to send the email
- Click on Send Email.
- A Testing email will be sent to the email Inbox
- Go to the Contact Us page
- Input all mandatory fields and click on the Get in Touch or Submit button
- All Email(s) will be sent to the provided email ID.
