We are pleased to announce that SIRSTEVEHQ has added a new UK data centre to our SIRSTEVEHQ CP Pro hosting platform, giving customers more flexibility when choosing where their hosting services are located.
The new UK data centre is now available for our Cloud Hosting, WordPress Hosting and Windows Pro Hosting services.
Previously, these services were provisioned through our USA data centre. With the addition of the UK location, customers can now choose between USA and UK data centre locations when ordering eligible SIRSTEVEHQ CP hosting services.
Choose Between USA and UK
When purchasing an eligible hosting plan, you can now select the data centre that best suits your requirements:
USA Data Centre: Suitable for websites and applications whose visitors are primarily located in the United States, Canada, Latin America or other regions where a USA-based hosting location may provide a suitable network path.
UK Data Centre: Suitable for websites and applications serving visitors primarily in the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa and nearby regions.
Your choice of data centre can be based on the location of your target audience, business operations, application requirements or where most of your website visitors are located.
Why Does Data Centre Location Matter?
The physical location of your hosting server can influence the network distance between your website and its visitors.
When a visitor accesses a website, their request needs to travel between their device, network providers and the server hosting the website. Generally, a hosting location that is geographically closer to the majority of your visitors can provide a shorter network path and potentially improve connection times and overall responsiveness.
This is particularly relevant for websites with a concentrated audience in a specific region.
For example, a website serving mostly customers in the UK and Europe may benefit from being hosted closer to those visitors, while a website primarily serving users in North America may prefer the USA location.
However, data centre location is only one part of website performance. Website optimisation, content size, application performance, caching, CDN configuration, DNS performance and the visitor's own network connection can also affect how quickly a website loads.
Nigerian Customers Have Been Automatically Moved to the UK Data Centre
As part of this expansion, we have automatically moved existing Nigerian customers using Cloud Hosting, WordPress Hosting and Windows Pro Hosting from the USA data centre to the new UK data centre.
This change was made because the UK location provides a more geographically appropriate hosting location for customers and websites serving Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
The goal is to provide a more suitable network path and improve the overall connection experience for these customers, particularly where their primary visitors are located in Nigeria or nearby regions.
Customers do not need to submit a migration request for this change.
Our team has handled the relocation as part of the infrastructure update, with the intention of making the transition as seamless as possible.
What About Customers Outside Nigeria?
Customers who are not based in Nigeria and are currently using an eligible SIRSTEVEHQ CP hosting service can continue using their existing data centre unless they choose to move to another location.
The new data centre selection gives customers greater flexibility based on where their business, applications or visitors are located.
If you are ordering a new Cloud Hosting, WordPress Hosting or Windows Pro Hosting plan, you will be able to select the available data centre during the ordering process.
If you are unsure which location is more appropriate for your website, our team can provide general guidance based on your target audience and hosting requirements.
Your Website, Domain and Services Remain the Same
The addition of the UK data centre does not change the hosting product itself.
Your hosting plan, control panel environment and the services included with your package remain in place. The primary change for affected customers is the physical location of the infrastructure hosting their service.
For customers who were automatically moved, there is no need to purchase a new hosting package or create a new account simply because of the data centre change.
What If You Notice an Issue?
Although we have taken steps to make the transition as smooth as possible, infrastructure changes can sometimes result in individual issues that require investigation.
If you notice anything unusual after the data centre transition, such as:
- Website accessibility problems
- Unexpected errors
- DNS or connectivity issues
- Email-related problems
- Application errors
- Performance issues that were not present previously
- Problems connecting to your hosting account
- Any other unexpected behaviour

Our technical team can investigate your specific hosting environment and determine whether the issue is related to the data centre transition or another configuration or application issue.
Please avoid making significant changes to your DNS or hosting configuration solely because of the data centre migration unless instructed by our Support Team. This helps us investigate issues more efficiently and prevents unnecessary configuration changes.
