Connecting a Custom Domain
Step 1 — Register your domain
If you have not registered a domain yet, you can use Name & Domain in BrandPilot to search for a suitable domain and register a supported domain where available.
If your domain is already registered with another provider, you can also connect the external domain to your BrandPilot website, provided the domain and DNS configuration meet the required setup.
Step 2 — Open your website settings
Open your website through Digital Presence → Website Builder and access the domain or publishing settings available for your website.
The exact location of domain settings may vary depending on your current BrandPilot interface.
Step 3 — Connect your domain
Follow the available domain connection workflow:
- Select the option to Connect domain.
- Select a domain already associated with your BrandPilot account, or enter the external domain you want to connect.
- Follow the instructions provided by BrandPilot.
- Complete the connection and verification process.
Step 4 — DNS propagation
If your domain requires DNS changes, the changes may not become visible immediately.
DNS propagation can take some time depending on the domain's DNS provider, existing records, and caching. During this period, your domain may continue displaying the previous website or may not yet resolve correctly.
For domains managed through SIRSTEVEHQ, follow the DNS or nameserver instructions provided for your hosting configuration.
For domains registered elsewhere, update the required DNS records at your domain registrar according to the records provided by BrandPilot.
Connecting an External Domain
If your domain is registered with another provider, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or another registrar:
- Log in to your domain registrar's control panel.
- Open the DNS settings for your domain.
- Locate the DNS records required by BrandPilot.
- Add or update the required records exactly as shown in your BrandPilot domain connection instructions.
- Wait for the DNS changes to propagate.
- Return to BrandPilot and use the available verification option to confirm the connection.
Important: Do not copy DNS records from another website or documentation page unless they are specifically provided for your current BrandPilot setup. DNS requirements can change, so always use the values displayed in your own domain connection settings.
Verifying the connection
After updating your DNS records, return to the domain settings in BrandPilot and use the available Verify DNS or domain verification option.
BrandPilot will check whether the required DNS configuration has been detected.
Once the domain has been successfully verified, you can proceed with publishing your website to the connected domain.
Domain Status
Depending on your current BrandPilot interface, your domain may display a status indicating its connection state.

If your domain remains unverified, review the DNS records at your registrar and make sure there are no conflicting records preventing the connection.
Publishing Your Site
Once your domain is connected, open the Website Builder and click Publish from the editor.
Publishing makes your latest website changes available on your live website.
Before publishing, review your pages, navigation, images, content, SEO settings, and domain configuration to make sure everything is ready.
Your dashboard may display the current website status so you can confirm whether your website is live.

If you experience an issue connecting your domain or publishing your website, first check your domain's DNS configuration and the status shown in BrandPilot.
