The Inventory section provides a consolidated view of stock levels across products and variants in your online store. Use it to monitor available quantities, make stock adjustments, manage low-stock thresholds, and keep your product inventory up to date.
Inventory List
Tracked products and their variants can be displayed in an inventory table.
Depending on your store configuration, the table may include:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Product | Product name and variant, where applicable |
| SKU | Stock-keeping unit identifier |
| Available | Quantity currently available for sale |
| Committed | Quantity associated with orders or other reservations, where supported |
| On Hand | Total physical quantity recorded in inventory, where supported |
| Status | Current stock status, such as In Stock, Low Stock, or Out of Stock |
The exact inventory fields available may vary depending on your product configuration and the eCommerce features enabled in your Workspace.
Adjusting Inventory
Use inventory adjustments to correct stock quantities after receiving new stock, fulfilling orders, conducting a stock count, or identifying a discrepancy.
Click a product or variant in the inventory list and update the available quantity using the controls provided.
Depending on the available inventory tools, you may be able to:
- Enter a new quantity.
- Enter an adjustment amount, such as +50 to add 50 units or -10 to reduce the quantity by 10 units.
- Add a reason or internal note for the adjustment, where supported.
- Click Save Adjustment or the applicable save action.
If inventory history is supported, the adjustment may be recorded with information such as the date, quantity change, and reason.
Low Stock Alerts
Set a Low Stock Threshold for products that you want to monitor closely.
You can typically configure this from the product's inventory settings within the Products section.
When inventory reaches the configured threshold, BrandPilot may identify the product as Low Stock. If inventory notifications are available and enabled, you may also receive a notification about the stock level.
Use low-stock thresholds that reflect your normal sales volume and expected restocking time.
Out-of-Stock Behavior
When a product reaches zero available inventory, its storefront behavior depends on your product and inventory settings.
Depending on the available configuration, an out-of-stock product may:
- Be displayed as Out of Stock
- Prevent customers from placing new orders
- Allow customers to continue ordering as a backorder
If backorders or continued selling are supported, configure the relevant option from the product's inventory settings.
Review these settings carefully for physical products to avoid accepting orders that you cannot fulfil.
Stock History
Where inventory history is available, open a product or variant from the inventory list and select the History option.
The history can help you review previous stock changes and identify when inventory was increased or decreased.
Stock history can be useful for:
- Reconciling physical stock counts
- Investigating inventory discrepancies
- Reviewing manual adjustments
- Tracking changes over time
- Maintaining accurate inventory records
Regularly reviewing your inventory and correcting discrepancies helps keep your storefront stock information accurate.
