How Do I Transfer My Domain Name to SIRSTEVEHQ?

If your domain name is currently registered with another registrar, you can transfer its management to SIRSTEVEHQ, provided the domain is eligible for transfer. Transferring your domain allows you to manage both your domain and hosting services from a single Client Area, making administration and renewals more convenient.

Before starting the transfer, please ensure that your domain meets the following requirements:

  • The domain is at least 60 days old from its initial registration or last transfer (this applies to most generic domain extensions such as .com, .net, and .org).
  • The domain is unlocked at your current registrar.
  • You have obtained the Authorisation Code (EPP Code) from your current registrar.
  • Domain Privacy or WHOIS Privacy (if enabled) is temporarily disabled, if required by your current registrar.
  • The domain has not expired or is still within its transfer eligibility period.
  • You have access to the domain owner's registered email address, as transfer approval emails may be sent to that address.

How to Transfer Your Domain to SIRSTEVEHQ

Step 1 - Visit the SIRSTEVEHQ website.

Step 2 - Navigate to the Domain Transfer page.

Step 3 - Enter the domain name you wish to transfer.

Step 4 - Provide the domain's Authorisation Code (EPP Code) when prompted.

Step 5 - Add the transfer to your cart and proceed to checkout.

Step 6 - Log in to your Client Area or create a new account if you are a new customer.

Step 7 - Complete the payment for the domain transfer.

Step 8 - Follow any transfer approval instructions sent to your registered email address.

Step 9 - Once approved, the transfer process will begin.

The time required to complete a domain transfer depends on the domain extension and the current registrar. Most generic domain transfers are completed within 5 to 7 days, although some transfers may be completed sooner if approved early by the current registrar.

In most cases, transferring a domain also extends its registration period by one additional year, although this depends on the domain extension and registry policies.

Please note that some country-code domains (ccTLDs), such as .ng, .uk, and others, may have different transfer procedures and requirements. Certain domain extensions may not use an EPP Code or may require additional documentation before the transfer can be completed.

A domain transfer only changes the company that manages your domain registration. It does not affect your website content, databases, email accounts, or web hosting. However, if you plan to move your website or email hosting to SIRSTEVEHQ as well, you may need to update your nameservers or DNS records after the transfer has been completed.

If your transfer fails because the domain is locked, the EPP Code is incorrect, the domain is not eligible, or the transfer request is rejected by the current registrar, you should resolve the issue with your current registrar before submitting a new transfer request.

If you are unsure whether your domain is eligible for transfer or need assistance with the process, please contact our Customer Service Desk via Live Chat. We will be happy to guide you through each step and help ensure a smooth transfer to SIRSTEVEHQ.
