What Is Domain Privacy Protection?

At SIRSTEVEHQ, Domain Privacy Protection is enabled by default at no additional cost for all eligible domain extensions. This complimentary feature helps protect your personal information from being publicly displayed in the WHOIS database, where permitted by the domain registry.

When you register a domain name, your contact information is submitted to the domain registry. For eligible domain extensions, Domain Privacy Protection masks or replaces your personal details in public WHOIS lookups, helping to protect your privacy and reduce unwanted contact.

Benefits of Domain Privacy Protection

  • Protects your personal contact information from public WHOIS searches.
  • Reduces spam emails and unsolicited marketing calls.
  • Helps prevent identity theft and social engineering attacks.
  • Provides an additional layer of privacy for domain owners.
  • Keeps your personal information protected where supported by the domain registry.

Please note that not all domain extensions support Domain Privacy Protection. Some registries do not allow WHOIS privacy services, while others automatically hide registrant information due to privacy regulations such as GDPR. The availability of Domain Privacy Protection depends entirely on the policies of the domain registry for your specific domain extension.

Since Domain Privacy Protection is enabled automatically on all eligible domains registered with SIRSTEVEHQ, you do not need to purchase or activate it manually.

How to Disable Domain Privacy Protection

If you wish to disable Domain Privacy Protection, you cannot do so directly from your SIRSTEVEHQ Client Area.

Step 1 - Log in to your SIRSTEVEHQ Client Area.

Step 2 - Navigate to Support and submit a Support Ticket requesting that Domain Privacy Protectionbe removed from your domain.

Step 3 - Our Support Team will review your request and may verify your identity before processing it.

Please be aware that once Domain Privacy Protection is disabled, any registrant information required by the domain registry may become publicly visible through WHOIS lookups, subject to the registry's policies and applicable privacy laws.

If you have any questions about Domain Privacy Protection or whether your domain extension supports it, please submit a Support Ticket or contact our Customer Service Desk via Live Chat for assistance.
