If you no longer require the resources included in your current hosting plan, you may request to downgrade to a lower hosting package. Downgrading allows you to move to a plan that better suits your current website requirements and budget.
For stability and compatibility reasons, hosting plan downgrades are not performed automatically through the SIRSTEVEHQ Client Area. All downgrade requests must be reviewed by our Support Team before they can be processed.
How to Request a Hosting Plan Downgrade
Step 1 - Log in to your SIRSTEVEHQ Client Area.
Step 2 - Navigate to Support and click Open Ticket.
Step 3 - Select the appropriate support department.
Step 4 - Include the following information in your request:
- The hosting service or domain name.
- Your current hosting plan.
- The hosting plan you would like to downgrade to.
- The reason for your downgrade request.
Step 5 - Submit your Support Ticket.
Our Support Team will review your request and determine whether your hosting account is eligible for the requested downgrade.
Why Is a Support Ticket Required?
Every hosting account is different. Before processing a downgrade, we must ensure that your website and data can operate correctly on the lower hosting plan.
Our team will review factors such as:
- Disk space currently in use.
- Number of hosted websites.
- Email accounts.
- Databases.
- Subdomains.
- FTP accounts.
- Other hosting resources associated with your account.
This helps prevent service interruptions or data loss after the downgrade.
Things to Consider Before Downgrading
Before requesting a downgrade, ensure that your website fits within the limits of the new hosting plan.
For example, the lower plan may include reduced:
- Storage space.
- Number of websites.
- Email accounts.
- Databases.
- Subdomains.
- Other hosting resources.
If your account exceeds the limits of the selected hosting plan, you may be required to remove excess data or services before the downgrade can be completed.
Will My Website Be Affected?
In most cases, your website will continue to operate normally after the downgrade, provided your account remains within the limits of the new hosting plan.
If changes are required before the downgrade can be completed, our Support Team will notify you and provide further instructions.
Will I Receive a Refund?
Downgrading your hosting plan does not automatically qualify you for a refund or account credit for the unused portion of your current hosting plan.
Any billing adjustments will be handled in accordance with our billing policies and the terms of your hosting service.
How Long Does a Downgrade Take?
Once your Support Ticket has been received, our team will review your request and advise you of the next steps. The time required to complete a downgrade depends on the complexity of your account and whether any changes are required before the downgrade can be processed.
